Getting into the Weeds with Medical Cannabis
Many of us have heard about medical marijuana – but may have some gaps in our understanding of its use and value in managing symptoms for certain illnesses.
Join us as we welcome our very own Dr. Josh Dowd, MD, Medical Director of Community-Based Palliative Care at Transitions LifeCare, to learn more about this fascinating topic! Dr. Dowd will discuss how widespread its use is in North Carolina, how it can be of value for symptom management, and when and for what illnesses it can be helpful to manage symptoms. Dr. Dowd will also debunk common myths and talk about trends for the future.
This session will refer to the use of medical cannabis and hemp in a clinical context (e.g., when and how to get started), but will not get into specific details about dosing.
